Terms of Service — Hibiko
Effective date: 30 September 2026 · Last updated: 30 September 2026
1. What this is
Hibiko (ဟီဘီကို) is an Android app for recording sales in shops in Myanmar, made by Kaung Htet (trading as Hibiko). These terms are the agreement between you (the shop) and us. By using Hibiko you accept them.
2. Your account
- You sign in with your mobile number, an email address, or your Google account. Keep it, and any one-time codes we send you, to yourself.
- One account belongs to one shop. You are responsible for everything done under your account, including by your staff.
- You must be 18 or older and using Hibiko for a real business.
- Give us accurate information. If your shop name or number changes, update it — we use it to reach you.
3. Your data is yours
- The sales, products, customers and records you put into Hibiko belong to you. We do not claim any ownership of them.
- We store and process them so that the app works — across your devices, and so a lost phone does not mean a lost shop. What we collect and why is in the Privacy Policy.
- You can export your records at any time from Settings → Export Data, and you can delete your account and everything in it from Settings → Account & security → Delete account. We will not hold your data hostage.
4. Your customers' data is your responsibility
If you record your customers' names, phone numbers or debts, you are the one who decided to. You are responsible for:
- being accurate and fair about what you record;
- telling your customers you keep a record, if they ask or if the law requires it;
- deleting a customer's record when they reasonably ask you to;
- anything you send them — a payment reminder goes from your Viber, in your words, and is your message, not ours.
Do not use Hibiko to record information about people that you are not entitled to keep.
5. What it costs
- Free — sales records, barcode scanning, receipts, stock, reports and staff PINs. Free, and we intend to keep them free.
- Pro — 9,900 MMK a month — the owe book (အကြွေးစာရင်း) and syncing between devices.
- Beta shops — if you joined the beta test, every paid feature is free for you until 30 April 2027. After that date Pro is the normal price, the same as everyone else pays.
- We never ask for a card number. You pay by transfer and we send you a licence key.
- If we change the price, we will tell you before it affects you, and a period you have already paid for is never repriced.
- Payments are for the period bought. We do not generally give refunds, but if something goes genuinely wrong, message us — we would rather sort it out than argue.
6. Using it properly
Do not: use Hibiko to break the law; try to break into other shops' accounts; attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service; resell it as your own; or use it to record things about people you have no right to record.
If you do any of these we may suspend the account. If it is serious we may close it, and we will tell you why.
7. Things that will happen sometimes
- The app works offline. The service does not always. Syncing, sign-in, OTP codes and licence checks need our server and your network, and neither is perfect. Selling, printing and your local records keep working regardless — that is the point of the design.
- We update the app. Features change and improve. We will not remove something you rely on without telling you.
- We may need to take the service down for maintenance. We will avoid busy hours where we can.
8. What we are not responsible for
Please read this part.
- Hibiko is a record-keeping tool, not an accountant and not tax advice. You are responsible for keeping whatever records Myanmar law requires of your business, and for what you declare.
- Keep your own backup. Use Export Data. Phones are lost, dropped and stolen, and while we sync your data we cannot promise that no record is ever lost.
- We are not responsible for money miscounted, stock mis-entered, a debt recorded wrongly, a receipt not printed, or a sale not made because a phone, printer or network failed.
- To the extent the law allows, if we are ever found liable to you for something, our total liability is limited to what you have paid us in the previous three months.
None of this removes any right you have under Myanmar law that cannot be removed by agreement.
9. Ending it
- You can stop using Hibiko whenever you like, and delete your account in the app — or ask us to, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- We may close an account that breaks §6, or if we stop offering the service altogether.
- If we ever shut Hibiko down, we will give you at least 60 days' notice on Viber and in the app, and the export will keep working for the whole of that period. You will not wake up to find your shop's records gone.
10. Changes to these terms
We will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app or on Viber about anything that matters. If you keep using Hibiko after a change, that is acceptance. If you do not accept it, you can export your data and close your account.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and the courts of Myanmar have jurisdiction.
